Stella's surgery got under way around 11:00am. About 2 1/2 hours later, the surgeon, Dr. Cashman, appeared in the waiting room and told us they were able to remove the entire mas and leave the entire pancreas intact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that after examining the tissue of the mass, it was not cancerous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No chemotherapy and No radiation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dr. Cashman also told us that 1 out of 100 patients, having a similar diagnosis, are as fortunate as Stella!
As we received word of Stella's condition, those of us in the waiting room, embraced each other with uncontrollable tears of great joy and great praise! You need to know that we are exceedingly grateful for such a caring loving family and so many caring and loving fiends (We Love each and every one of YOU). Your prayers, thoughts and words of encouragement have been and are a constant reminder of God's presence, and your heartfelt concerns for us are a continuing comfort.
Gods story really is being told through each of our lives and somehow, in some way, and for some reason, this event is being printed on the pages of our lives. Because we are sharing this experience together, it is now part of OUR LIFE STORY!
We are humbled, knowing that there are many times and, in many ways, others do not always receive the same good news... To them, we must always remember! The unfolding of their journey and the telling of their story is in a different way. If we are placed in their lives, or they in ours, We must pray and look for ways to impact their lives with the same hope, comfort and a reason to believe, that we ourselves posses!
Without going into all the details of her first day and evening in recovery, let me just tell you she is Praising God, resting well and as comfortable as she possibly can be.
The best is yet to come.........!
Love,
Paul and Stella
